Abstract

The special issue of the Bulletin "Radiation and Risk" (1999) presents the first results of the implementation of the Program of Joint Activities for Overcoming the Chernobyl Catastrophe in the framework of the Union of Belarus and Russia, implemented in the creation of the Single Register of Russia and Belarus for Thyroid Cancer, which includes all identified cases of thyroid cancer in the four most polluted regions of the Russian Federation (Bryansk, Kaluga, Orel and Tula) and the entire territory of the Republic of Belarus between 1982 and 1997.
