Abstract

It was performed the analysis of modern approaches to the treatment of Kaposi's sarcoma based on the disease pathogenesis understanding. It indicated that the standard pattern of therapy should be selected depending on the type and stage of disease, and patient’s immune status. Along with local and systemic treatment with various drugs used methods aimed at the destruction of local lesions: electron radiation, radiotherapy, gamma-therapy. Considered reports on the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy, extracorporeal photochemotherapy, laser therapy in the treatment of Kaposi's sarcoma. Attention is drawn to the possibility of using laser-induced thermotherapy, the effect of which is based on the possibility of establishing a local hyperthermia. In the absence of information on the effectiveness of this method in the Kaposi's sarcoma treatment it concluded that further studies in this direction.
