Abstract

Current status of regulation documents on Radiation Safety of the Environment is reviewed, including UNSCEAR conclusions, ICRP recommendations, new International Basic Safety Standards, and results of recent EC projects. Examples of Russian scientific and methodological achievements on this subject are described. Conclusion is made on the necessity to accelerate the development of regulation documents, ensuring the radiation safety of the environment, with harmonization of Federal laws and new International Basic Safety Standards.
