Abstract

Increased lung cancer mortality was revealed among the personnel of industrial association “Mayak”, exposed to radiation in wide dose range. The main role in lung cancer induction belongs to plutonium. Excess Relative Risk of lung cancer in personnel with measured plutonium body burden is close to that in atomic bomb survivors. Data on additional nonradiation risk factors and histological types of cancer are presented in the paper.

Key words
Increased mortality, personnel, Mayak, lung cancer, plutonium, excessive relative risk, histological types, risk factors.
